Acting governor Ghassan Daghlas has also said that since October 7, Israeli forces have killed 45 Palestinians from Nablus.
“The city, its camps, and its villages are exposed to subject to almost daily raids, but in recent weeks, the raids have largely focused on refugee camps,” Daghlas told Al Jazeera.
“The last raid on the city was on Monday in Al-Ain camp, during which two young men were arrested. On Sunday, there was a raid on Balata camp, and another man was detained.”
Daghlas said that Nablus is also subject to a siege, with eight military checkpoints surrounding the governorate. Huwwara checkpoint, a main artery that connects Nablus to the city of Ramallah, is closed, making it difficult for thousands of people to make the journey.
“These checkpoints, which have been set up for political and not security reasons, affect everything from education to the economy,” he said.
