US supports UN probe into aid-related Gaza incident in which dozens were killed

The United States supports the United Nations doing a probe into an aid-related incident in Gaza last week where dozens of people died, the U.S. State Department said on Monday.

Gaza health authorities said Israeli forces on Thursday shot dead more than 100 Palestinians as they waited for an aid delivery. Israel blamed the deaths on crowds that surrounded aid trucks, saying victims had been trampled or run over.
