Hamas Palestinian group says the move constitutes “an infringement of the rights of our Palestinian people to their land and a violation of the rules of international law considering Jerusalem as occupied Palestinian land”.
A short while ago, we reported on an announcement by Argentinian President Javier Milei, who is currently on a trip to Israel, saying he will move the country’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
Israel illegally annexed East Jerusalem after taking it over during the 1967 war, and it is considered occupied territory under international law. Other allies of Israel, most notably the United States, have relocated their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in recent years.
