Qatar: What’s happening on the ground in Gaza affects talks

Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul delivered this responserahman bin Jassim Al Thani when asked why Hamas took a week to respond to the captive deal:

There are a number of challenges that we are facing throughout negotiations.
What’s happening on the ground in Gaza affects the course of the negotiations all the time.
Communication was representing some challenges – but also, the negotiation itself, it took some time to get [Hamas] to a place where we got that response.
The overall prospect of this looks, for us, at least, as we received it, more promising and [is giving] more prospects for better results. We are hoping to see it yielding and yielding very soon.
